I have a PowerSystem Sport Plus that is mounted in an Aeroworks 260 35CC. I ran into a problem on the maiden flight. I lost power shortly after take off. After an uneventful deadstick back around (thank God), we attempted to start the plane back up. We noticed that the red LED on the killswitch was not illuminated.

After some investigation, we noticed that if you wiggle or apply (sideways) pressure to the black receptacle on the PSSP (not on the remote part of the optical switch), the LED would flicker on and off. We tried new fiber optic wire to make sure that wasn't the problem and also made sure the optic wire was securely seated. It appears that something is loose inside the black wire receptacle or on the board itself.

As it stands now, the kill switch appears to work, but as soon as you wiggle the black area, it will cut out. I'm pretty sure this is what caused the deadstick (vibration was just enough to kill the connection and it shut down). I obviously can't fly the plane in this situation.

Any ideas?

I sent the above to Smart Fly as well, I just thought I'd post in the forum to run ideas by anyone. I have a straight up kill switch in an Ultra Stick that works like a champ.



When I say the black part, I am referring to both the part that screws the cable tight and the black square area. If you touch those, the connection disconnects.
