You can go 10s 2p but run then in pararellel. Not in series. It will give you the same voltage but twice the run time. That is what I did on my Wellington.

If you would just up your cells by 2 you would see a hugh difference in your power...
Well, I have gone to a 14S A123 setup....you're right! Scary more power. I put the watt meter on it and stopped adding throttle when the watts read 2400 and the prop tips started ripping the air. I'm running a 20x10 APC E prop. The Phoenix 80 HV controller should be able to handle this power load (barely). If I had it to do over again, I would replace the 80HV with a 120HV unit for plenty of buffer! Can't wait to see what this makes the plane do in the air...vertical should be a piece of cake.
