Rook, you might find that the dive brakes/flaps will warp since they are made out of thin ply (that was one of the problems I had with the CAP Dauntless.) For my larger Bates Dauntless, I used 1/16" fiberglass circuit board material (I think it's called G10.) I got the laser parts from Bob Holman, and used his plywood dive brakes/flaps for templates to cut the G10. Drilling the holes was a challenge. I finally found some diamond hole saws of the correct diameter at Harbor Freight. And, the G10 is straight. I used piano hinges, and glued them on to the dive brakes/flaps with epoxy and small screws. Worked like a charm, but does add a little weight. I know that Kent used a smaller engine, but there's a lot of surface area on the Dauntless and it's easy to add a lot of weight with fiberglass cloth and paint. I recommend something larger than a 1.08 - remember, there's no substitute for power and you can always pull the throttle back
