That motor is WAY overkill for a Gentle Lady. Use it if you have it already but I'd suggest drop down to a 10x6 on a 2S pack to keep from ripping the wings off.

I was doing near 3D style aerobatics on a 36 oz model with my own 480 with a 10x6 running on the old 7 cell Nimh packs. On a Gentle Lady it would have gotten to the stratosphere in about a minute. And that's what you're talking about using except with the added power of a 3S pack.

I also suspect that on a 3S pack that the 11x6 is going to push the motor past its max power point and it'll get hot enough to fail. If I'm wrong it won't matter because the Gentle Lady will be climbing vertically with speed flutter in the wings....
I flew it today and you are correct it is quite excessive however I kinda like it. I went with a 10x6 on a 1500mah 3s battery got 11 climbs to as high of an altitude as I care to go almost completely vertical. The 3s was a hoot, but I think I will pick up a 2s battery as you recommended it would probably be about right.
thanks
Unless you are trying to drop weight, stay with the 3S pack if it is working well. If you want less power just back offthe throttle.
