Default RE: GWS ICS-300J

Here are the specs for that ESC
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...SEARCH=ics300j

Here is the critical spec:

Auto Cut (V): 4.2V
          BEC: 5V/1.2A
          Current: 8A continuous/15A max
          Weight: 10g (.35oz)
          Length: 25.5mm (1")
          Width: 12.5mm (.5")
          Height: 9mm (.4")

That would be too low of a cut off for a 2 cell lipo which should be cut at no lower than 5.5 volts and preferably 6V.   As stated above, this ESC is not set-up for lipos.

This GWS 300 ESC is lipo compatible

Auto Cut (V): 5.4V & 8.1V
          BEC: 5V/1.2A

GWS seems to be using 2.7V per cell under load as their cut off voltage. This is workable but lower than most battery makers suggest you go.  If you are not going to run it to LVC all the time, these should be OK, but they do have lower cuts than other makers.  Typically 3V, under load, is the low voltage cutoff target that most battery makers suggest.

I have noticed that the GWS brushed ESC tend ot have very low LVC settings compared to other MFG.  I think they are too low, but they are workable.
