Skip, 45 degrees is ONLY to be used with ply/laminates.  Otherwise, it's PERPENDICULAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Horizontal is the absolute weakest way for that thing to be placed.  In fact, it's MEANT to fail when placed parallel with the spar.<div>
