RE: Hello =) - Optic 6 Help with programming Flaps
Spina,
The way I understand your setup you have 2 servos for the ailerons, and 2 servos for the flaps. A total of 4 servos for the wing. In that case the easiest way to get this working is:
Plug a “Y” into channel #1, plug each aileron servo into one end of the “Y” You don’t need a reversing “Y” if you set up your servo control arms correctly; with each arm pointing toward the wingtips or toward the fuselage. Set up this way one will push and one will pull.
elevator to channel #2.
motor or esc to channel #3
rudder to channel #4
leave channel 5 empty
Set up channel #6 the same as channel #1 BUT! Huge but here. Set up the flap servo control arms so they both point in the same direction, either right or left, because unlike the ailerons(one goes up the other down) you want the flaps to both go up or both go down. The flap switch will turn flaps on or off and the rotary knob will control deflection.
Rudder will be on the left stick, but that is normal Mode 2.
There are other ways to set this up using channel #5 for one of the ailerons and using aileron differential to mix the channels or plugging one of the flap servos into channel #5 and using some other mix ( I don’t remember which one), but the setup above is the easiest way to get it working.
