Trainer wing tips????
Yes, probably a little faster, but I doubt that it'll be enough to really notice.
For the most part, our trainers are just ridiculously overpowered, adn they're purposely designed with a lot of drag so they'll slow down when we need them to, like for landings. More skill makes us able to handle more speed, and lots of guys clip the wings of their trainers once they've moved up to higher performance planes. It's a good place to experiment -- relatively low risk as long as you're already competent with the plane.
