RE: got a glitch i cant get rid of
Lets apply some fault finding logic here:
Only one thing has changed since you last used the radio; the batteries and time.
The Battery packs:
What type and voltage battery pack did you use previously? NiCAD 4.8V, NimH 4.8V, Alkaline 1.5V cells, Lipo, etc,?
What type and brand of servo's are you using in your plane?
Another thing, 3 years of storage can affect the Tx and Rx electronics. Often corrosion can set in and you can have a "dry solder joint" or a corroded joint.
Time:
This willaffect the electronic hardware; corrosion, (dry Joints), the frequency crystal integrity, aerial connection intergrity and maybe a few others I've not thought of.
Stat at the Reciever. Its the most exposed electronic component and the most sensitive.
Open theReceiver and check for signs of white power on the solder connections. Yes, then your Rx is shot. It can be reworked and may be salvaged but I'd replace it. Other components could aslo be affected that may not be as visible.
Do the same for the Transmitter. Theres more electronis inside the Tx so be careful when opening it. Its out of warranty anyway so go ahead and check the circuit board for corrsion. Yes, then it could be serviced and re-used, alternativley replace it.
I've never seen or heard of servo's getting dirt inside causing glitches but anythings possible.
The other fault you could be experiencng is corrosio or a lose connection in the switch. Open this and check for any signs of lose connections or bad solder joints. Replace as a precaution.
let us know how you get on, then we can expand on the search for the fault
