RE: Ziroli Skyraider Build
BTW the black bottom is apparently a rare find. From what I could determine these planes were flown out of Thailand and were part of a Special Operations Squadron (SOS) that worked the Ho Chi Minh Trail and other less desireable jobs. The black was also useful for night sorties. These planes could carry as much as fully loaded B-17 and a variety of weapons were available to them. My current project is to finsih a Kellog AE5 Skyraider, the two seater version. I hope is flies as well as the single seater. My paint colors came out of a rattle can, Krylon camo paints really looked the part. The weathering is done with chalks and an airbrush. I will try and find some of the close up pics of it for you.
