Good start on the turret! Never used Mr. Surfacer before, but I can only assume it's similar to tube putty mixed with a solvent to be more liquid and fine grit sand. I'll be using something similar for my turret but thicker, which will be a mixture of resin sand, epoxy putty, and acrylic.
