First time I have ever seen one actually installed into an airframe. Looks good.

From my little bit of seeing and reading about them, they were designed for pattern plane use back in the 70's or 80's when pattern competition required larger props to fly the larger planes but the displacement of the engine was limited by rules so several manufacturers went to gear driven prop drives in order to swing the larger props needed while staying with the engine size rules.
