Default e-Power system questions

I thought I had a thread started but I can't find it.

So I'm looking back through some flight log data while my motor is being repaired. I noticed that the amperage recorded by both my meter and onboard data logger showed that amps dropped when I switched from automatic to fixed endpoints (ESC setting). I think it went from 75 to 70A or something. I don't really understand this.

I know the readings we get are an average current and I'm just trying to make sure I know what I'm doing so I don't lose another motor.

I also would like to hear about prop solutions - I was told some APC glow props will use less current than the e props due to better rigidity and less flexing. Does anyone have some comparisons to post? I'd totally be down with a CF prop or something if I could use the same size and drop some amps.
