Joe, you are probably right.
I was thinking (yeah, I know, dangerous) about your question. When you switched to fixed end points, you may have also shifted the way your TX throttle curve is working with your ESC. That could affect your average amps readings if your throttle curve is now a little lower rpm for the same stick position.
Throttle curves, end points, etc, are kinda tricky with the e setups and a small change can have a noticeable affect on usage, amps, etc.
