What actually caused the failure? Never mind I see they were over torqued.

I assumed the bolts did not clamp the prop fully leading to the torque load being transferred not through the hub, but through the bolts themselves. Fairly quickly this would destroy the laminate and result in the failure we see.

How exactly does over tightening cause the prop hub to fail like that?
