Hi Guys,
Received my Q80-11S with the post today, and took some measurements that could hopefully satisfy the crowd following this thread....
Weight: approx. 655 grams with the prop adaptor
Shaft length with stock prop adaptor installed: 28mm
Outside diameter of the bell: 88.5 mm
Rear support bearing inner diameter: 8mm
Connector: 4mm bullet, gold plated
Observations:
Motor seems very well built, but somewhat heavier than advertised. The first adverts said 590 grams, the current weight listed on Hackers web-site is 630 grams, the weight of my motor is approx. 655 grams...
The dual lock-nut assembly is no longer made of steel as it was on previous Hacker motors, rather on the Q80 they are made of aluminium and painted or maybe anodised black. Probably to save weight.
The rear bearing is located in the bell, and as far as I can see only has the purpose of installing a rear support, it is not in contact with the steel shaft. The inner ring hole diameter of the rear bearing is 8mm, so it should be relatively easy to create a light rear support using 8mm carbon tube glued into a cross brace made of 3mm plywood or something similar.
Took some photos as well.
