In addition, there is no date for the NSRCA board to actually approve and publish the schedules. The board needs to be given a date when that has to happen. Also, what happens if the board doesn't approve one or more schedules? Do we revert to the previous schedule(s) for the next 2 years?
I also think the Jan 15th date of year x is too late for the board to get the schedules to vote on. In the southeast, there are several contests in the Jan thru March timeframe. The schedules need to be approved and published by Dec 31st of year x-1, so that competitors know what to practice, and to allow for the necessary changes to scoring programs, give CD's time to prepare, etc. The proposed procedures are also putting this task on a board with many new members at their first meeting. This needs to finalized by the board prior to members going out of office.
Please read my comment in an above post. People are misinterpreting the dates. X is the year proposals haved to be in for the AMA proposal cycle. So Jan 15th is really in 2010 this last cycle. THe schedule may need to be revised if the sequences are removed from the rule book which I think it will. I have been clarifying and adding a few things to the procedure based on some comments I have gotten or seen. And Jan 15th is into the NSRCA Board not contest board. Like I said, that schedule is a RECOMMENDED schedule and was based on the assumption at that time that we would have to submit a rules proposal, but were told to hold off. By the way, I believe there is a way to implement new schedules if we did miss the contest board approval process anyway.
Once the final voting of the Contest Board is done, schedules will probably be made official by the NSRCA Board. This should happen sometime this fall.
There is no need for panic guys.
