Default What to do?

Alright, so i have a nice used roller Ofna Ultra LX pro on the way, and I have some questions that id like some opinions from others on.

I have a few engines to choose from.

The first is an Axial .28 spec 1s. This is in my savage and I dont think it really has enough RPM for a buggy engine. I can use it, and I probably will at first, but id like something with some more RPM soon. This engine doesent need anything and runs great.

Next I have an XTM 24.7 engine. Great compression, and complete, but it needs the plastic backplate, and possibly a new OWB.

I also have an HPI .25 engine. This engine also runs good and has good compression, but it needs a one way bearing, backplate, and starter shaft.

I thought about buying a new engine just because I hate to spend $30 to fix a used engine, but I also hate to buy a new engine and have more $$ in it when one of the ones I have would work fine for a long while. I had an XTM 24.7 in my XTM buggy and it ran great so id like to use it.

Anyways, basically, I could either spend $30-40 to get one of my 2 used engines running, and have a backup engine. I could sell both the used engines, and buy a new engine for $130, and I really hate to spend that much.

However, i have one more option. I was thinking about a starter box. Id rather have a pull start, but I hate having problems with my one way bearings in my engines, and breaking pull starts, and messing with roto starts. I know most buggy guys just run a bump start engine, and if I bought a starter box, I could run either of my used engines, and never have to buy another OWB for them again.

I have never owned a starter box, so any info would be great. Will most any starter box work on this? I dont want to have a battery in the box itself if its possible. Can I get a box that I can use right off of my real truck battery? How much $$ would I be looking at for a starter box? Do the starter boxes wear out fast?

Thanks for any help and opinions on what I should do.

Eric
