Default RE: What temperatures do you guys fly in?

I
grew up not far from you, Ron.

September and October have historically had the nicest Fall weather one could imagine.

After Jets Over Whidbey, I plan to ride my motorcycle to Reno, park the bike at my daughter's house for the Winter, rent a car, and troll the flying sites in the Bay Area for a few days before I travel home.

Where do you fly?

Bob
I fly at two club Livermore and Oakdale, CA. You are so right about September and October around here...just the best weather you could think of to fly in. Like 80 degrees and a little cool in the morning, enough for a light jacket... some years it stays nice right up to Dec.. I fly all winter it's never that cold, but we get wet spells and thats building time.

The funny part about the bay area is we have micro climates. Livermore is 25 minutes away from me it's 10 to 15 degrees cooler that Oakdale. So I watch the weather to know which club to hit. If it's 98 in oakdale it's 88 in Livermore prefect for the summer. In the winter in may be overcast and 65 in Livermore so I go inland to Oakdale and it's 75 and clear... having the two clubs has gotten me so much more flying time and more comfortable.

I fly big EDF's come troll our clubs anytime
