ORIGINAL: Broken Wings
Just my opinion, but I'll take a ''cheap'' (as Ed puts it) German/Austrian made engine (Webra, HB) over a China made engine any day. If for nothing else than the quality of materials used to make the engine, the accuracy of machine work. etc.
If your going to buy ''Cheap'' you may as well buy ''long lasting'' cheap that will hold its value when your done with it.
The last of the baffle piston engines were known as the black head series. They were top of the line engines. The Silverline, while resembling the black head line, is different in many ways.
An old school modeler who is used to long, methodical break-ins will get along just fine with the Silverline series. Modern modelers who cut their engine teeth using OS Engines will struggle, curse and usually give up before a Silverline is through break-in. This does not make the Silverline series bad engines. It simply means that they were out of touch with the market place when they introduced the Silverline series. I don't even know if they are still being manufactured. Anyone?
