After trying a lot of poor valves I decided on only using BVM fill valves. I push a piece of freshly cut 3mm tube inserted inside the inner part of the valve to pump them up, so don't touch the threads at all and nothing gets worn. They are very good valves but very expensive, but a leaky valve is no use at all!
