Flew the heck out of the plane today, not any more difficult to control on grass than the tricycle gear was and looks neat as a conventional gear plane. Should have built it this way in the beginning. The conversion moved the cg back just a little, just enough to make the plane fly a little better! I used 4-star aluminum landing gear by the way. The original wire gear is really floppy, I think that made the tricycle gear a little imprecise in long grass. The aluminum gear is easier to mount, and looks better, than the wire.
