G62 Ignition problem HELP!
I have a G62 with magneto ignition. Took it to field for first time and was very hard to start. But did run, seemingly normal with what little experience I have. However, the ignition cutoff switches I installed did not stop the engine. The manual states to ground the black lead to the engine body to kill the engine, however, the black lead itself is already grounded to the body when I use an ohmmeter on it. So switches couldn't ground it any better obviously. I got another source coil from Horizon and it does the same thing. What am I missing? Should the black lead show a short to the engine body without any other connection? If so, then why would a switch that grounds it actually work? And even more confusing, how did I get it running (although it took 15 tries with a megatron)? I am really confused and need some help, this is my first gasser.
