RE: Comp ARF BAE Hawk build thread
hello all did the maiden this weekend and all went pretty good. the plane flys very easy and nice. heres the problems. lost the gear doors on the first flight.. landing gear was very hard to get working right. had to go inverted to get the gear up. on my fifth flight had to do a belly landing because one gear got stuck. well figured the problem out . my friend george on here had a hawk like mine and had similar issues. the brass pins on the cylinders were binding on the side of the retract mount causing to get stuck. had to do some mods to the retracts to finally get them to work correctly. mine has the smaller cylinders with the newer lighter wheels. anyway i can pump them up now to 100psi and cycle them 6 times now.. big time diffrence. before lucky to get two cycles at 140 psi. anyway no damage on the belly landing..thank got... the plane is awesome and flys very well . mine is nose heavy but no issues. the landings are very predictable. sink rate is very nice and smooth.. want to thank everyone on here especialy dave wilshire who i think i drove crazy with all the questions.. thanks again...ricardinho
