Hi, Yes, it can be done. Took that route on my static kit and ended up spending just as much as my other 2A6 (full option). Actually did the Full-option version first and because it was kind of fun and satisfying, decided to reprise the experience by ordering the omitted RC parts for my Display version. Most of us have spare servos so that's about the only item you need not buy. The part numbers of the static and full-option versions are not totally identical and this can be confusing.
