yeah, it's a shame. the 46 was a tough old bird and as much as we had thrown against it, nothing came through. Joel Lebow wanted to get the masters copied for a conversion kit, but we both were talking to a lot of people with no results. I know a couple guys who also wanted one, and the conversion from a Tammy or HL Pershing is not all that bad. .Being that the design was for a Tammy, I had to do a bit of modelling, but everything went together nice. My U-tube ditty was a little off due to an El Mod part that was not working right, but that's fixed and she runs great. Bad thing is that the M-46 was used only in korea from 1951-mid 58, so it doesn't have that much of a track record. A couple units in the states used them for training after Korea, but outside of a couple Turkish units, the M-46 was only used by the US in Korea. I was in Korea when we were turning in the Pershings for the :"new" more powerfull 46s, and I was there in May-June 58 when we changed over to M-47s. The ol' 46 showed me a lot about where you could and coundn't take a tank in korea. A "no frills" tank with only manual...power turret traverse only...and no gadjets like computers, range finders etc. but it ran well and that 90mm was a very acurate "chink chopper". I'd like to see an M-47 on the market. A totally assinine ammo stowage and worthless range finder, but the 47 would run circles around about anything.
