RE: Hobbico SuperStar EP Select Electric
I have one that my neighbor gave me. It used to be a three channel but he hacked in some ailerons. I had to redo them but hopefully I'll get to finish it soon. As far as the motor and battery, I would dispose of the NiMh battery and throw the motor and speed control away. Find an inexpensive brushless outrunner and speed control and a lipo battery your efficiency will go up and so will your flight times. I have five electric planes and all of them started out with brushed motors but are now brushless. I'll never use another brushed motor again. On my Superstar I'm converting it to glow power. I thought about using a .15 engine but may use a .25 instead or possibly even a small 4 stroke. Restore it and convert it to brushless if funds allow. Tower might have a wing kit available for it still. I just checked Tower Hobbies and it looks like the wing kit will be available in late September if you want one with ailerons.
