Default RE: Need E set up for Demon

You can but you have to select components that can take it, larger motor, larger ESC with a heat sink, and bigger, higher C battery. There is similar concern with fuel motors too. There are motors that you can prop to higer rpms and lean ou t for short burst of really wild speed but if you left them open for longer runs you'd melt them.

Let me throw an example out. My Cyclone with a 1506 neu, 80 CC ESC, and Polyquest 2000mA 5S 30C packs. It's prop'ed with a APC 4.75x4.75 and I've done a 229.9mph diving pass with it. Everything works real good for the short burst and the hottest component is the battery, 2000ma times 30C in 60 amps and I'm pulling 80a bursts. If I go and get crazy and do a few full power laps the motor overheats, the ESC is hot, and the battery puffs to the point of trying to push the wing off the fuse. Not good for the plane or the equipment. I could go to a 1509 and a 2200mA 40C battery and it would run cooler for the lap type flying but it would also be harder to fit and much heavier.
