Default RE: 3 Giant Warbird Builds 1-P-40 2-Corsairs

Here you go I have made some progress. The wing is not set yet but it is very close to where I can epoxy in the hold down blocks add some balsa filler and make the 1/32" liners for the saddles. I am still not completely happy with the fit at the LE. I want at least +2 degrees incidence and right now I have almost +1.5 degrees. It will be soon though. It take time being careful not to take to much off. I test fit my home made cowl and the custom canopy I had Graham Buchanan from Tiger Models make for me. He is the one that sells the all composite 122.8" Corsair. He modified one of his into a F4U-5N and out of the kindness of his heart when he made his special canopies he made me 2. Just in case one gets damaged. You can see the workmanship he put into the one on the plane. It has a real aluminum frame and rivets. No Flite-Metal on this one. The canopy is thick and the frame is too. More to come soon! After the wing is set and I move the instrument panel toward the LE so it is scale I will finish sheeting the fuse. Then onto the wing tip panels.
