FUEL QUESTION

Can someone tell me the difference between #1 fuel oil and 1-K kerosene?
A local gas station has #1 fuel oil (kero) with a sign that says "Not suitable for unvented home heaters requiring 1-K kerosene". It is also dyed. $1.89/gal.
Maybe some expert can point out the differences between the various kero oils, diesel, etc...

I'm no expert but have a look at the shell data sheet on Kerosene. This may answer your question
