Default Cloud dancing, finally!

Today I finally reached some clouds with the LT40. These were fog lifting
at about 1200' agl and the plane was visible, except when it went in and out of
the clouds themselves, I had a friend watching the video monitor while I was flying.
I must post these vids somewhere!

Default Very nice shots!

Dear Mike:

The PIPE, "fellow Ham, KA1ABG" here again...thos are VERY NICE shots there!

Hope you can get the videos posted soon!

Just wondering, what camera and downlink system, and video output device were you using...I was checking out the 434 MHz unit from Supercircuits, at http://www.supercircuits.com/STORE/p...item=6&mitem=8 ...it seems to be a COMPLETE airborne system in just under a cubic inch of space, for the camera part anyway, and if the first linked setup does NOT provide audio output as well, what I saw at http://www.supercircuits.com/STORE/p...item=1&mitem=6 WOULD provide the audio output! Maybe they might even "custom bundle" the A/V transmitter with the camera if I asked them...!

Also, what would you recommend for a SMALL, portable video receiving device I could use for something like this? Seems as though a "Watchman" style of device might be good for this...something that would be easily mounted ONTO an RC transmitter's front case...and as where I'm strictly a SINGLE STICK "knobby" Tx flyer, that empty space on the left hand side of the metal Tx cases I use would be perfect for a temporary mount for it.

Hope you can answer my queries here, even though I'm a LONG way from being able to afford it before the end of the year! Probably in 2004, perhaps...!

Yours Sincerely,

The PIPE!

Default RE: Very nice shots!

I have been using the 900mhz system from Supercircuits:
[link=http://www.supercircuits.com/STORE/prodinfo.asp?number=AVX900S9-V&variation=&aitem=2&mitem=18]900mhz w/audio[/link]
Its looking like I might have to go for the closed loop yagi antenna to get the results I want tho. I have it installed in a Kadet Senior ARF.
Videos on my site.
Also, check out BlackwidowAV.com.
He has 900mhz and 2.4ghz equipment including cameras and tx's that will run on 5v.
I can vouch for that Panasonic CX161 camera. Looking to get the 600mw 2.4ghz system he sells once I get the scratch together.

I am using a BlackWidow AV 1 Watt video transmitter at 2.4 ghz on the plane,
powered by an 11.1 volt Lithium Polymer Battery Pack that when charged (properly)
will give out 12.3 volts. The camera is a Supercircuits CCD camera with a 90 deg. lens.

Heres my ground setup:

Hey, Mike, this is Chuck (ke4grp) in Columbus Ohio. I remeber talking to you on the 82 machine in Gainesville. Anyway, just crusing the forums and ran across your call. Can't believe it.

I'm just getting into planes from cars and having a ball. Kc8cnv and I just bought park flyers and I have gotten mine up in the air. I am sure I am going to have a lot of questions and it is nice to see a ham I have talked to. Say hi to all in G-ville, and great pics.

The SIG LT40 is a bit bigger than an Aerobird

I need to find a free web server to post videos to.
