Default My 2nd Aerial - The Neighborhood - Shot in High Definition

This time it was a bit smoother and both of us were a lot less nervous.

I ordered a video downlink today.

Still not happy with the Windows encode but here it is

Windows format - 40 Megs

People have complained it is choppy but it seems better once you let it finish downloading.

Looks great! There's a slight amount of motion blur when panning the camera. Is that because it's 1080i and not 1080p?

No it is because "I cheated" and slowed the video down using "field blending". I noticed it too and will put up the original for review.

Well it was a 2 pass windows encode using a Mac, Contant bit rate 2600Kbps.

Camera is a Sony HDV HVR-A1U and believe me when I tell you the original footage looks a lot better

Progressive video (24p, 30p, 720p & 1080p) will always produce the film type look. Interlaced will always provide the regular CRT or TV look. Some editing software allows you to process this look if the video is shot interlaced. I like 30p the best because it takes the hard edge off of video but doesn't seem to strobe as much as 24p, especially with quick pans. Quick movements are something you have to learn to avoid when shooting progressive video.

Dog that video was absolutely incredible!!! Not just clear but very stable!! Please post more video soon. Could you also post video of the actual rig flying? I want to see how that big ass little camera fits on that bird.

What Seneca says. He does know his AP.

Edit: Hey Seneca does your 3 legged Broadcast 360 mount wobble on take-off any more than the others?

The broadcast 360 doesnt wobble much unless the heli starts wobbling.
The mobile monitor is the best way to go for a 2 man (person) situation.

are you able to move your camera in a 360 degree turn to view the area, and if so, where did you get the setup.

Helicam solutions has a new one out called the Mark IV it has two retractable skids.(using 4 Robart Retracts)
Airfoil Helicam has a mount that is a turret that the heli stays still and the whole mount rotates to get the shot.Cool idea.

Tiger 50 is made by Audacity http://www.audacitymodels.com/

Raptor 50 is made by Ace (Thunder Tiger) http://www.acehobby.com/ace/00_helis.htm

For the camera rig I am flying a Century Condor http://www.centuryheli.com/products/...1307/index.htm running the RotorTech 830mm Semi Symmetrical Industrial Main Blades

The mount weights about 5 lbs but since "lift" has never been an issue I cannot tell you exactly the 'all up weight'. It is a work in progress.
