Default Video Camera

Hey Guys,

Well, I'm going to mount a camera on an RC plane I'm going to get,
but I have a snag: The Camera is not very powerful.... I get static constantly.
So what I decided to do is Rout the signal through a high power transmitter,
but here's the catch: The Transmitter has to be plugged in. Do to do this, I'd
have to hard wire a battery system for the high powered transmitter, and I don't
want to, like, fry anything, so if there are any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

Here is a Diagram of the system:

Ideas Anyone?

What are the current system components?

Are you sure that your ground-based video Rx is tuned to the proper channel??? It sometimes happens that even when the wrong channel is used (as with Diversity systems) you may get good reception extremely close to the Rx but then the signal quickly degrades as the onboard Tx range increases. This may be what is happening.

EDIT: Also, in the diagram you have Camera Rx, with which I am not familiar. Usually the camera just plugs straight into the Tx downlink....

My current system, is a 2.4 GHz Camera.
Here is a link to where I got it.

http://www.dynaspy.com/product_info.php?products_id=28

It's not powerful, I know, which is why I'm bringing in an entirely new transmitter/receiver
system to boost the signal.

Well, normally I would have the receiver on the ground, but I have to put it in the air,
so it can wire the signal to the boosters. (Scratches head) There's got to be a simpler
way to do this.... But until then, I'll just stick to this.

I may be wrong but I don't think it's gonna work. Those 2 tx close together will swamp the signal. Better of to get a separate camera and plug it into the big tx.

Yeah, that problem came to mind.

Well I see a lot of cameras over Ebay, but I need to find one compatible with this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/2-4GHZ-WIRELESS-AUDIO-VIDEO-TRANSMITTER-RECEIVER-2000_W0QQitemZ150301094592QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_De faultDomain_0?hash=item150301094592&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1421|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A13 18

I think something like this might work:

http://cgi.ebay.com/IN-USA-Spy-CMOS-Color-Wired-Mini-Camera-CCTV-Security_W0QQitemZ150308415887QQcmdZViewItemQQptZL H_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item150308415887&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1421|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A13 18

However, I am going to have to McGyyver a battery system, because both are designed to be plugged in.
Any good Ideas on how to do that?

Oh! And the Outputs on the Camera are weird. Any ideas on how to compatablize that with the transmitter?

You can buy the adaptors for camera and tx at radio crap shack. However, you should search the forums here and rcgroups before making any more purchases. Will save you lots of $$$

Might I suggest you simply scrap what you are about to attempt here because it's more work than it's worth for very substandard quality. First of all the cheap Chinese CMOS camera you wish to use will disappoint so badly because they usually will do a few things here:
1) poor AGC (Automatic Gain Control) therefore you will see extreme dark then to extreme white outs when changing light occurs like from ground to bright sky.
2) black spot will occur when you are forced to face towards the sun, that's how CMOS "iris" deals with bright lights.
3) colors looks horrible compared to a micro CCD that fpv vendors sells.

Also to hack the TX on that camera is such a pain because of it's size, not to mention you will attempt to buy those horrible A/V TX & RX from Ebay. Again too much work for what's worth. (BTW those Ebay A/V TX & RX are ok for ground use with the camera at a stationary point, but really.. have you've seen the internal construction? I think when they pay someone low wages, they don't put the care into soldering components.. so much globs of solder everywhere!) Ok I admit it.. I am one of those suckers who bought one LOL!

Truly you are better off to shop at www.hobbywireless.com , www.futurehobbies.com or www.hobby-lobby.com (Pilotview2400) for a product that is cheap enough for the average working joe and proven to work with out disappointment because they are FPVers selling stuff to FPVers.

You got that right, JMSTECH!

Just starting out, working with decent-quality, compatible components can be a little tricky. Trying to cobble together imcompatible junk is an exercise in head-banging![:@]
