Default UAV's ???? help please :D

hello everyone
im not sure it this is the right place for this coz i looked but couldent find the "UAV" forum is there one that i might have missed?
anyways i have a friend who is looking to buy one and they are 30 000 $$ so he is thinking that it might be cheeper to build one himself out of a j3 cub or something with FPV and also can fly its self to GPS locations and take video and return to a "base" to be manualy landed i have no doubt that this can be done
anyone know how much a half decent UAV will cost to build could you get one built for around $10 000 ?
thankyou heeps for your help
happy flying

Depending on what you already have on hand (i.e. laptop computer, fpv video or video downlink, airplane, TX rX servos ) it can be done for less than $5000, maybe as little as $3000.

Don't worry, you can still make money as a systems integrator, i.e. somebody that can get all these gizmos to work together in harmony. Anybody can buy the pieces, but it takes a fair amount of headbanging to get it up and running. It's not as easy as the finished product makes it look.[]

UAV's are the wave of the future, and I can imagine that there will be a growing demand for systems integrators.
