As you get more comfy with flying the Velox the trick would be to take it up the classic "3.5 mistakes" high and turn off the gyro and deliberately try for a slow speed stall to see if the CG movement combined with the turbulators has helped or not. If it still goes "cobra" and flips over you've got the 3 mistakes worth of altitude to get back some flying speed and pull out safely with the .5 worth as reserve.
