The SPAD people seem to do alright with whatever section results from wrapping coroplast around a yardstick. Seriously at the reynolds numbers we fly and the sort of flying a fun fly airplane does, it doesn't make a lot of difference. There have been several threads discussing how far back to put the maximum thickness and how sharp or round to make the leading edge, and you might do a search to read some responses. There is not likely to be one section that will do all things equally well. If you want to do snap maneuvers a lot, a thinner airfoil with a relatively sharp leading edge might be best, or if hover and harrier is your thing a more rounded one with the thickness more forward would likely be better. For inverted flight it should by all means be symetrical. The practical answer is just draw a section that looks like some of the more popular fun fly airplanes. You can't go far wrong.

What's the scale of the aircraft, and what is the purpose. These factors will greatly affect what kind of airfoil you need.

ian, what kind of funfly you want, cougarish? or limbo dancer ish?

cougar is very neutral and a bit fast, limbo dancer is slow with not so good inverted performance.

pm me your adress and ill send you the one you want

Hi Edible,
Choice of airfoil depends directly on purpose the craft is intended for,
You say "fun fly" but that covers a wide spectrum!
You need to define type of performance desired.
OK?

Since you mentioned Spads, here's the link http://www.spadtothebone.com/SPAD/
We've been using an airfoil that is for the most part...flat. Check out the SPA3D and SPA3DT. The plane is blowing people away with what it can do.
