How far apart should the wings on a bipe be?

Anywhere from 0.7 of the larger chord to 1.5 the larger chord. The wider the gap the better from an efficiency point of view. Typcial gap is around 1.0 times the chord of the wider wing.

Yes. <giggle>
One should strive for the least flapping of wing possible. (Hate when that happens. It makes a mess)
As was stated earlier, a chord width between the wings is a good starting point.

Thanks.
I'm planning 48-inch span, 8-inch chord, 1 1/2-inch thickness, fully symmetrical, 7.5-inch from top of bottom wing to bottom of top wing, no stagger. I think a .46 will fly it, but a .61 will have unlimited vertical.
