Default Hobbico Extra 300

I was given an excellent deal on this Extra 300 so I set it up and went out and had fun with it. I started messing witht he CG and set up untill I got it tail heavy and found myself with a handful trying to get it back on the ground in one piece. I managed and now after about 30 flights I'm frustrated with the way it flys.

I can't do a perfectly flat spin with this plane. I've considered a major overhaul of the control surfaces to make them all twice as big as they are now. Would that help in that manuver? I'm using an OS61FX for power with a 12x6 APC and I have a ST90. Would the 90 be the way to go, Bigger prop, more air over the controls? The plane will knife edge good only if you roll in to it very smooth with the nose slightly up. If your sloppy it just doesn't have enough rudder or power to keep it from falling off. I'm guessing the plan weighs around 7 to 8 pounds.

Its a very fun plane to fly but I'd like to be able to do a double hammer head and flips. I'm suffering in the pilot skill department but think that if I can just get this plane set up correctly then some of these tricks will be easyer to learn. Will there be noticable differences in control with oversized controls and since I don't have a 4 cycle engine will the 90's extra prop size and power make up the difference? Concerning the C.G. is it ideal to have it as far back as possible or can these types of manuvers be done with normal CGs and just bigger control diflections.
