The Aerobatics I am looking to to do include departure manuver's etc... snaps, hovers, harriers, piro harriers etc... a little different from pattern flying smitty!
I was checking the PDF manual of the 86" somenzeni Yak 54 & I saw a photo of the end of the airfoil, It looked exactly like a NACA 0012... not sure of the wing tip though!

I would like to add to the discussion about airfoils and that would be the leading edge. A sharp leading edge will stall more sharply than a more blunt and round leading edge. However the really important thing has already been mention here. That would be wing loading. I have always built my planes as light as practical and have had really good fliers. I do not build to crash, and instead build to fly. The fact that I also fly full size is a plus also. Plus I practice and hone my skills as much as possible.  I have learned to "fly the plane" , which has helped in spades.

The airfoils on these models are basically-as thin as you can get em without having failures
The tips , 9% not uncommon.
sharp le? - really not a big deal on this setup -the radius is quite small however, on all the modern ones
