Big mistake! Please help
I am building a spadstick. The wing chord was suppose to be 11" plus 2 5/8" for ailerons. Well I figured on 12" to add a few square inches of wing because I anticipated it might get a little heavy - anyway I set the spar at the measured place off the plans but forgot about the extra inch - the bottom line is that I have a wing with the spar at 31% of the chord (Including ailerons) instead of the normal 25% -
So the question is, do I scrap the wing or fly it? The profile came out semi-semetrical with a total wing thickness of about 1 1/2" at the spar. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Hawk |

If your worried about having your cg and the location of the spare-don't worry. You can still set the CG whever you want it-I don't think the spare loacation is really that critical.
