canards????
What kind of thrust angles are reauired for canard ships (tractor or pusher)? Which would be better for a canard a tractor or a pusher? The canard is supposed to fly at a higher angle of attack from what I know. How much higher? Is 4 degrees too much?
Any help is apriciated. |

canards????
A canard should not fly at a higher angle of attack than any other aircraft, but because the canard is at a higher angle of attack than the main wing that will stall first. This means the nose will drop and that protects the main wing from stalling.
If you put a clark Y on a canard aircraft and a conventional aircraft I would suggest they will stall at the same angle. The canard maybe at a slightly lesser angle because of the disturbed air from the canard tips. Most full size EZ type canard aircraft are being built with a dihedral canard these days to try and stop this. |

Most carnard airplanes usually have the engine in a pusher configuration, although there's really no reason why you can't have a tractor mounted carnard plane.
