I believe channels 1 and 6 are for the ailerons and 2 and 5 are for the elevators.

There is big advantage to using separate channels for each surface. If needed, you can utilize sub trim, and most importantly, you do not split power coming out of the Y. If you use y's and additional extensions, you loose power going across each connection. Loss of power means loss of performance. If you spent the extra money on digital servos, spend a little extra money and use a proper reciever.
You really do need a channel for your ignition, and I would not suggest connecting anything from your ignition to your reciever...you are asking for trouble in the way of feedback. Set up your throttle kill correctly and there is one throttle kill the other is the switch.
Just my opinion,
Brian

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build
Just ordered my edge today and am new to gas. Got the 30cc dle. On aw website have two kinds of ignition power systems one by smartfly for 20cc-150cc and another by aw for 20-30cc. Dont know which one is better or what I need. Thanks for any help! First time posting on a forum also.

If you go back and read the build thread, those questions are answered. On a plane that small you really do not need one of those systems. The build thread contains a ton of information on build tips and items used.

Use a 4.8 jr sport 1500 and you will be fine. I use it on my edge with a dle 30 and after all day of flying when I charge the battery a week later it usually only puts 500 to 700 mah back in it. You don't gain any advantage of using a 6v battery and dle ignitions don't like them, it tends to let the smoke out of the electronic ignition.

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build
Hi Guys,
Is there room to run a tuned pipe in the 30cc Edge?
It doesn't appear so from the pics but I don,t have one yet to take the necessary measurements.
I,m thinking if some internal items like the servo try etc. are re-located it would be possible.
Any thoughts?
thx
Dave

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build
Here is another question. Has anyone had to trim the carbon rods for the tail? Mine seem to seat nice in each stab half, but when I put it on the plane, there is about 1/4 inch space between the fuse and a stab. If i was to cut of 1/4 inch of each tube it would fit. Is that normal or am I missing something?
Thanks in advance

Shortening the stab tubes is not something that normaly needs to be done but it can happen. Are both tubes a 1/4" too long or just one? Either way, sanding them down with a disc sander will be the easiest/cleanest way of shortening them.
As for the pull pull cables, you should be able to push the cables towards each other by about half of their distance before they won't go any further. If they get closer they are too loose and if you can't push them together that far they are too tight.

RE: 30cc Edge 540 build
Thanks for the info Mark. I had to cut 3/16 of both tubes and all went to gether with out any problems. The wife is not too happy with how much room it is taking up in the living room, but I am really enjoying the 540. It is going together like nothing I have ever worked on before.
Thanks for all the hard work and time invested to give us top shelf kits.
