Default QB Extra 260 decal issue

Hi, I just completed the build of my Extra 260 and the ease of build and quality is outstanding! I'm used to "building" ESM warbirds and this was a pleasure to assemble. One issue I must bring up though is the instructions for the transfer decals. On the first two decals I tried to follow the instructions and use Windex which was a complete disaster. The decal would not stick to the surface and would not come off the transfer sheet. I wound up using thin CA glue just to hold it down. I decided to try not using any liquids and it worked perfect! I just cleaned the surface with rubbing alcohol first. Yes, you only get one shot at it and it does not move but at least the decal sticks! Luckily I learned this early on and the rest of the decals came out great.

A quick question. Do you recommend clear coating the decals with spray enamel like Rust-Oleum? I'm afraid that they are not going to stay on the airplane or will start to peal on the edges.

Also, is 3" back from the wing tip leading edge still the recommended starting CG? The airplane came in at 17 lbs with a DA-50.

Thanks,
Mike

Hello Mike,

Thank you for your comments on the build quality. As for the decals I never have used clear spray enamel and never had any issues. I have used clear fingernail polish over the edges if they start to lift and it does help.

The C.G. is still at the 3” location as shown in the manual.

Thank you again and let me know if you have any other questions
