I don't think it will be enough. Mine is around 23lbs with ZDZ Super 80 on a JMB Canister and it is just right - strong vertical but not unlimited, hovers with okay pull out. The engine is new and will get better. I have a 58 (non canister) on a 17lb airplane and it is strong but by no means over powered. It would barely fly a 23lb airplane, it would be very scale - i.e. no hovering and lots of throttle needed. The can would help but not that much.

I would use the 58 in the 50cc Yak and keep it light. If you could save a pound with carbon, wich is very easy to do, you would be around the same weight people are at with the DA50 and have insane power.

A few people are flying them with this motor and though the power isnt as great as the new 80's they all say that is still has plenty of pullout power.

Any of the ZDZ 80 line of motors will work great on the Yak.
