I would buy this plane if it weren't so expensive...With shipping and decals the bill comes to a whopping $920....A bit steep for a China built 50cc aircraft with built up components in my opinion...She sure does look GOOOOOOOOOD though!!!

No problem on the pics of the MT57 install. I am going to be using the new mount that Tomy came out with. It will make it easier to mount the engine as it will give more room around the carb. I just finished going over the covering with an iron and gun. Wasn't much to do really, this is the best covering job I have seen on an ARF yet. I hope my AW 100cc Yak 54 is as good. I am saving that build for last, it is waiting downstairs in its box. I will be powering that with an Area 102.

I am seriously eyeing the new 100cc Extra 300. Won't be until 2010 though

RE: Introducing the NEW Aeroworks Pitts Python ARF QB!!!
Hello,
It seems that a lot of people are worried about weight with this aircraft. Is there a particular reason everybody is using pitts mufflers on this aircraft. I am just finishing mine up and I am using the stock muffler on my new DL-50. From what I have read, the stock muffler is lighter than the pitts style. Just wanting your thoughts on this.
Thanks
Lonny

Yes, the stock muffler is lighter than the aftermarket pitts mufflers.
The plane flies beautifully. But with a 50 it does not rocket out of a hover like some would like.
With round cowl of the pitts, the stock muffler probably wouldn't stick out much at all if any.
As for why people want to use the wrap around pitts...probably just the looks of it.
I think it looks better with the 2 exhaust pipes centered and angled back behind the engine.
Also with the stock muffler, you have one big pipe sticking straight down beneath the engine.
More likely to get damaged if there is a nose over.

I am going to give it a shot with the stock muffler and save some weight. I will just need to make sure I have enough exit area on the cowl for cooling. Since I am going to run smoke, I am going to try and make it as light as possible. If I dont like it, I can always change mufflers later.

Yours is really looking good now !! I had to wack away a lot of my cowl to get the smoke muffler on. Never thought of that when I ordered the muffler. Hope I can post a picture of it here.
Thanks, John

Here are the last of them. It sure hurt to have to cut the scoop off of the bottom of the cowl. I almost went to a standard muffler to save the scoop, but then dI would have had the muffler hanging out he side instead. Sometimes you just can't win.

All complete except for the graphics package. I am going to wait for spring to apply them incase I need to shrink the covering again. It came in at 19 pounds on the nose. I got real lucky and it balanced at the recommended point right on the nose.

Where did you end up putting your receiver batteries ?
Did you put the ignition and ignition battery as per the manual ?
How about a picture of the inside
Sorry for asking so many questions. I just got my 23" props today. And Jeff is quite the salesman...he convinced me to get the adapter mounting plate which in turn forced me to get different standoffs...He's good [:@]
My plane should be here in another 2 weeks if all goes well and no delays.

The adapter plate.??
Did you have to remove the pressure tap under the reed block to get it on ?
I tried to slide mine on and the red tubing and pressure tap would not allow it to slip over the crank bolts.

Here you go. I have it set up with a 42% BlueBox, each aileron has it's own lead with no "y's" in use. I still have to make the platform for my receiver and mount the batteries with velcro. I just had them in temporally to check the balance. There are two switches for the receiver, both of them are mounted in the same place on opposite sides.
edit: Added new picture of final installation.
