That is actually the new 150cc Ultimate 20-300 with the secound covering scheme. That is the same scheme that is on the 50cc

Cool!

Can you tell me how the top wings are joined on this plane? I REALLY would like to swap out my H9 Utimate for something that doesn't rattle like the wings are going to fall off!

If I remember correctly, each wing has its own root rib with a tab on the root rib that bolts to the cabane structure itself - really doesn't get any more simple and effective than that. The new bottom wing design is a simple bolt-through-the wingtube method. It is crude, and not as slick as the origional cam/stud setup, but it is lighter and easier to manufacture. I talked to Aeroworks about this Ultimate and it went from a 44 pound down to a 42 pound setup - WITH tuned pipes!!! This is VERY light for a plane with 3300+++ squares of wing. A DA or 3W 170 will be the ticket for this plane, and it will be phenominal! The best-looking Ultimate I have seen in my 20+ years of modeling...my opinion only, but man do I just LOVE it!!!

I wouldn't normally offer to do this... but heck, its for Aeroworks, right?

I realize the release date has been pushed back a few times, and AW wants to get it right before it hits the street. They've designed, tested, modified, tested some more, then more and more... its almost ready, but do you KNOW its going to be a hit? Is the manual detailed and accurate enough to ensure a positive build? Has AW just overlooked some small details becase they've gone down this path dozens of times with new products? Hmmm.....

I think they need to pick a couple of "man on the street" testers and send them the Ultimate for some final testing and verification! Say, maybe one in Tucson and one in Atlanta? I know we've both bought our share of AW planes.. they're the best wood ARF in the air. I'll take the risk with my 3W 170, my servos and other electronics, and invest my time to make sure that this plane is a winner. And... I've got the H9 Ultimate for some head-to-head comparisons! What a bargain!

I know what you're thinking.... Mike, you're crazy... why would you take such a risk? Well, its just one of the things I'm willing to do .... FREE OF CHARGE... to help make a great company just a little bit beter!

I'll keep the computer turned on today, looking for that e-mail from Mark, asking for my shipping address!

(remove tongue from cheek)

If I was a politician... I think I'd be losing this election... looks like AW is going to want real spending money for these things!
