Default 50cc Yak

Just got my 50cc Yak, It’s the red and white one and it looks great. I did have a problem with the cowl paint coming off. They are sending me a new one so I would give them a 100% in customer satisfaction. I was wondering what type of motor and servos you guys are using on this type of bird. I only use futaba radio gear. There are so many choices for motors I don’t know where to start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Go with either a DA or DL 50 or you will not regret it! Both will provide you with lots of power.

I would go with the Hitec servos, 7985's on the surfaces and a 7955 on the rudder and a HS625 for the throttle. As far as the engine goes the DA-50 is a great engine and the reports say that the DL-50 is also a great engine. I just sold my 50cc AW Yak with the same set-up in it Hitec servos, DA-50. This was a great combo.

I have the same plane with the setup Gregman states and I love it. I also have a DL 50 in another airplane and would not hesitate to use this engine. It is every bit as reliable as the DA and substaintially cheaper.

Get the DL50 engine. With the money saved buy a canister and header. Super quiet and plenty of pull!

I have an AW yak with a DL 50 engine fitted with a canister. You will not be disappointed with this engine.
