New Edge 540's 50cc vs 100cc?
Hi,
I have been looking at these new edge's AW has out.
It will be my 1st Gasser, So to speak. I do have a 33% Pitts. (OS BGX3500 glow motor).
So the gas motor will be new to me a bit. (Airplane motor anyhow, I am a small engine mechanic)
I just would like to know which of these planes I should get. I know the 100cc will fly better then the 50cc, Because of the extra wing area.
But my biggest problem is some of the high speed maneuvers that I'm used to doing with my AW .61 edge 540t (.91 glow). blenders, high speed walls etc.. And I'm worried that the bigger plane might not be able to handle the stress of high speed stuff.
or am I just worried about nothing! I know throttle management is very important, And I do use it. lol
Thanks,
Don.

I agree with Johns3d. The 100cc plane will hold up with no problem. The 100cc is by far a better choice than the 50cc. More power and more stable. All of Aeroworks planes are built very strong but light and will handle lots of stress! I have not broken an Aeroworks plane yet! Very good product.

100cc is better but I don't expect any large plane to start up to a bunch of full throttle walls but they will take abuse, especally AW planes

If you can afford it get the 100cc plane, it will fly much better than the 50cc. As far as holding up I don't think they are many planes out there that will take the abuse that the AW planes will unless it's something like a Carden built by a professional builder. I know of only a couple more that will, but for the quality and the way they fly you can't go wrong, if it were me making the choice I would buy the Extra 300, that's just me, the Edge looks like a 3d beast! Just buy the one you like the most.
