how doya' fix a cracked and damaged canopy?
I have a damaged canopy from an Aeroworks 50cc YAK54. Some cracks and even a chip out of it as well. What do you guys recommend as a fix? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, JC

RE: how doya' fix a cracked and damaged canopy?
For a part of the canopy that is not clear, I have been successful in fixing a crack by gluing a piece of fiberglass on the inside of the canopy. I have even replaced portions of the canopy that have been completely removed by using this same strategy (as long as you have the piece that came out).

On my Yak-54 canopy that was damaged in a crash I used the very clear packing tape on the inside. It is almost invisible when done correctly. I used two layers of the packing tape. The brand I used was Duck HD Clear from Wal-mart. I did not use any glue in the crack because it would show up. Practice with some clear plastic from items that come in clear plastic boxes. Check out my complete canopy repair on my thread "1.20 Yak 54 QB Rebuild after crash'. You can see the before and after on the canopy as well as the rest of the plane.
