Default Any full scale builders?

Post some pics of your homebuilt, Or someone elses. Just ordered an info packet and DVD for Vans aircraft. I would really like to build one of these sometime in the next 5 to 10 years.
The local museum has got a FW190 that they are rebuilding, and I got to see them work on the wing, it was impressive. What a skill!

I have quite a few friends building RVs. Nice planes.

Sorry I haven't had time to get the pics up yet. Switching to a new system at home and haven't been there all week. Hopefully I will get it done this weekend depending on my flight scedule.

Hi,

I built a Rutan Vari-Eze that I powered with a Continental C-85-12 engine. Awesome machine, but not too pratical once the family came along. Now it sits in my garage, and I'm flying a Beech Bonanza.

Here's a toy we built at AgViation in Biggs, CA over the span of about 6 years in our spare time. About six mechanics contributed to the project. I did much of the construction, as well as fabric and paint work. No. it's not a giant Pitts. It's a modified Grumman AgCat, with full dual controls. 450hp. registered experimental. Great visibility, and really easy to fly. Since the airframe is designed to carry a very heavy load, it's a wonderful performer when only loaded with pilot and passenger.

Heres a few of my EZ. It is wider, longer and deeper than a stock long, which allows the fuse to be more rounded. You can see the wings, the canard being mounted, the nose just after being glassed and one of the nose after initial frost and sand. Long way to go on it yet.

That is really amazing that these things can be built by "regular" guys. I sent out for a Vans RV info pack. It came with a DVD and a book on all the aircraft, and also a list builders to contact in my state. Im looking forward to meeting some of the local builders in the area. Hopefully they will recieve me well.

FLYBOY, I ran my raptor tonight, (without the blades) and everything seemed good, I was excited to see if I set it up correctly. The flybars seemed to spin level, and all controls moved in the right direction. I was so escited since Ive had this heli in the works for almost 9 months.

Thanks for all posts, I felt this thread was well needed and glad you all are posting.

I was just reading through the accident reports and came across a guy who had engine probelms on the first flight of his RV-6. It said that he expierienced a rising oil temp and a loss of power. He landed short of the runway and the aricraft sustained substantial damage. He had changed the oil and filter on the Chevrolet v-6 car engine that he had put in the plane just before the flight.

He survived. What an awful feeling to crash your REAL plane on its test flight.
